This is the rule...

SENSORS - You are allowed as many sensors as you like, but the types are limited as follows:
o They may only be touch, light, color, rotation, or ultrasonic.
o They must be LEGO-manufactured MINDSTORMS type as shown here.

This is my understanding also. I thought the team can use more than 4 sensors (although only 4 can be plugged in at a time). I can't find a rule that says 4 is the max number of sensors. Can someone please correct me if this is wrong?

Thanks
Jason

I have been informed that there is an unlimited number of sensors allowed, but you are limited by the type of sensor.  I guess my team missed that boat!

As long as the swapping out the sensors does not break the rule of the max number of sensors or motors brought to the table, you can switch them out.   You may only bring a max of 3 motors and any combination of 4 sensors.
They can not be marked, except with lego created stickers, "properly" applied.   We had some lego stickers that came in our retail set, and they are on the sensors and bot with no issue.

Brandy

You can remove the markings with rubbing alcohol.

My read is yes against the rules.
