Yes, two of the same kind of robot can communicate. A common project is to use one robot as a remote control for the other. If he is just starting then yes I would buy the EV3 sets.

If he can he should get an EV3 Expansion Set for each robot. I don't know about Venezuela but he may need to get the software for each computer not just one for both.

High resolution screens are important to use the software so netbook style computers are not a good choice. An older XP computer with a big screen is much better than a new computer with a small screen.

Some information on the software.

System Requirements: Microsoft Windows®:

Tell him good luck.

Hello all,

I am asking this question for a 4th grade teacher acquaintance at an international school in Venezuela. He's in the process of writing a grant for obtaining two robots for his classroom. He would like to know if it is possible for  two LEGO robots to communicate with each other. Would you recommend he buy the EV3 with it's new features? Also, if any of you have suggestions for resources to enhance his classroom robotics instruction, we would love to hear about it.

Thanks so much!

Michele
