In response to the recent question about this, I'm reposting the e-mail below from Bobb Shires whose solution was the only one that got our tower to stay put.

This is what I did. A bit extreme, and not for everyone. Please don't attempt unless you have the proper tools and skill. There's a lot that can go wrong. 
  
Those are 1.25" Kreg pocket hole screws, though any "slim" wood screw .75 - 1.25" length should be okay. You must drill a proper size pilot hole first, and use a "regular" screwdriver, not a power tool, to insert the screw. Just barely snug, don't over-tighten! Careful you don't drill through the wall.
