Here's information from the FLL Project FAQ at http://www.firstlegoleague.org/challenge/projectfaq * – HOW BIG CAN OUR “COMMUNITY” BE? *Your team will not be judged on how you defined your community. Choosing a community is simply a way to help your team focus your research on a specific area. That being said, I usually recommend that teams choose a fairly small community – like a town or county. This will help your team look at specific potential effects of a natural event rather than thinking about them in general terms. A person is much more likely to consider the effect on individuals if they are thinking about a town rather than an entire state. The state is too big to really see all the details. In the end, your team is welcome to choose a community that interests the team members.
