As Phil and Steve both mentioned and I noted in my email last night, the number of teams advancing is dependent on the number of teams in each division at each tournament (each tournament director will be given instructions specific to their event).  The same percentage is used across the state and for both divisions but it is not 1/3  of teams.  We actually are expanding the Championship tournament a little this year to take as many teams as we can but with ~520 teams in regional tournaments, we do not have the space for 1/3 of teams at that event.  Our Championship tournament already has significantly more teams than the FLL World Festival tournaments.

Varies by number of teams enrolled at the tournament. Typically it’s *about* 1/3 of the teams, I think. That will also vary depending on state enrollment (up every year!): State can only hold so many teams…

IN VA/DC  Hubs which placed teams will advance to regional ? I mean each categories 1st placed teams ? or Robot game 1st place ? Overall 1st,2nd,3rd placed teams ?
