We are Sparky 384, a FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) Team, from J.R Tucker High School in Richmond. We are hosting a LEGO Drive to collect used LEGOs and FLL field set-up kits.
These LEGOs will be used to create Junior FIRST LEGO League (Jr.FLL) kits for children in under-served schools/communities in Virginia. We are also reaching out around the world to start Jr.FLL. Sparky is starting Jr.FLL teams at 3 schools in Haiti. These schools are eager to participate, but can't afford to purchase kits. Sparky is even sending Jr. FLL kits to Uganda.
Please help us "spark" a life-long interest in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) in young students who might not otherwise have this opportunity.
If your FLL team has LEGOs or field set-up kits you are not using anymore, please consider donating them. Please e-mail us, at [log in to unmask], if you have a donation.
NOTE: We will have a representative at two FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) events this weekend. If you live near there, feel free to drop off your donations (write attention Sparky 384 on the container - you can leave the LEGOs at the check-in desk).
