Your memory is correct, but this is another thing that FIRST/Lego has changed this year.  You no longer get a printed coach's handbook or a DVD with the robot kits.  The field setup kit only has the playmat, 3M velcro/tape squares and 2,101 pieces of Lego.

If you still have the DVD that came with the robot kits last year, I suggest using that instead.
