Is anyone else having trouble building the senses and learning styles model?

When I have the slider fully extended, the lever with the tire sags, and the slider can't be pushed in. If i prop up the lever so it is level, everything works fine. In the rules, two of the pictures (pp 10, 13) show the tire lever flat, one (p 25) shows it sagging.

Help?
