The video implied that we could, but challenge doc did not. Make sure your team has read ALL of the rules, and ALL of the updates. This one was specifically addressed in Update 9.UPDATE 9:- YOU MAY NOT MOVE BARS AROUND BY HAND M05 Clarification (10-29-15) The exception described in M05 only allows you correct rare situations resulting from Bars getting stuck on your Sorter’s east chute:--If a Bar gets to a hole, but doesn’t fall through... You can put it through.--If a Bar lands in the wrong Bin, or on the mat, FROM THE EAST CHUTE… You can put it into the correct Bin.That’s all the leniency allows. It is the ROBOT’S job to transport Bars, and to load and activate the Sorter, and to move the Plastic Bag.On Mon, Nov 2, 2015 at 9:05 AM, S L brown <[log in to unmask]> wrote:More sorter questions: If we have a Leniency and are allowed to pull out the plastic bag from the sorter, how fast does it happen? Who does it? Rules appear to allow either referees or kids to do it. Kids with short arms are going to have trouble reaching across and may inadvertently demolish something. Should we request the ref to help (quickly!)? And where does the plastic bag go? Can we put it wherever we like after extracting it from the sorter? On Mon, Nov 2, 2015 at 8:33 AM, Amy [log in to unmask] <[log in to unmask]> wrote:Thank you Steve. I just wasn't sure if they were suppose to slide down themselves or if that was part of the challenge - pushing down the slope. Sounds like they're suppose to slide on their own and that we should take a look at our model.Thank you,Amy Nichols
The models I have tested work well, but I don't see high use situations until the tournaments start. The Field Setup, page 15, reminds us:Mission Models – Keep the Models in original condition by straightening and tightening solid connections often. Ensure that spinning axles spin freely by checking for end-to-end play and replacing any that are bent. This is something that the referees are reminded to check frequently.Steve ScherrVirginia-DC FLL Referee AdvisorOn Sun, Nov 1, 2015 at 5:07 PM, Frank Levine <[log in to unmask]> wrote:Ours has that problem too. If we really tighten up all of the connections, it works for a while, but its is definitely a little fickle.-FrankOn Sun, Nov 1, 2015 at 5:02 PM, Amy [log in to unmask] <[log in to unmask]> wrote:Hello All...For those doing the Sorter mission, can anyone tell me if once the bars are deposited they slide down to the bottom to the up-and-down bars on their own? Ours kind of stay in place without sliding once they're deposited. I was just wondering if something is wrong with the way ours is built or if that's the way it's intended to work. Thanks much!Amy Nichols
