Ours has that problem too.  If we really tighten up all of the connections, it works for a while, but its is definitely a little fickle.

For those doing the Sorter mission, can anyone tell me if once the bars are deposited they slide down to the bottom to the up-and-down bars on their own?  Ours kind of stay in place without sliding once they're deposited.  I was just wondering if something is wrong with the way ours is built or if that's the way it's intended to work.
