Those who are maturing in FLL and like to consider FTC as next step, here are some information that can help –

* FTC is for students in grades 7-12 and is quite different than FLL in that it’s more on robot build and programming (Java/Android based programming on much bigger robot with metal, electronics, electrical wires, etc.)

* There’re lots of online resources for transitioning. Two workshops are scheduled this summer in VA, focusing on the new programming platform (introduced last season):

    1)  FTC Programming Workshop
         Sat, July 16 (Richmond area - Mechanicsville)
         Instructor: Matt Glennon and Matt Schubert
         (Few seats are still available)

    2) FTC Android/JAVA Programming Workshop
        Sun, Aug 14 (Northern Virginia area - Fairfax)
        By FTC team 9901 "Techie Titans", Inspire Award 2nd place winner from 2016 Virginia State Championship

HOW TO REGISTER FOR THESE WORKSHOPS:

 * Go to https://www.virginiafirst.org/
 * Scroll down until you see "Upcoming Events" list on the right
 * Find those workshops and click to see event details
 * Find the registration link toward the bottom of event description
