Yes – but…

It typically doesn’t make sense to do so. Scott Evans, the engineer who designs the game, tries really hard to design changes/challenges so that teams NEED to change their design to be competitive. That’s part of the fun, but there’s no rule that requires you to change the robot.

Subject: [VADCFLL-L] Question on Robot Reuse for non-rookie teams

Hi All,
I have a question regarding robot re-use... specifically:

* Are they allowed to use the same robot base from year to year?
* There are lots of good FLL robots on sites like EV3Lessons<https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=http-3A__ev3lessons.com_robots.html&d=CwMFaQ&c=eLbWYnpnzycBCgmb7vCI4uqNEB9RSjOdn_5nBEmmeq0&r=J5fb0ELkRoh7TzAGYz99sSMvB-c7i4AC0HDT2OVPrww&m=L1fcux9I-6yMMW-uKYZIVKobQyC7CtFFost-LXP7LbQ&s=IDqORDX2OqtMWTnZoxRtQzXxSN0fGJMYwfAkEGgVT70&e=>. If my team decides to build one of these robots and then modify it to suit their needs, how does that sit with the judges? Is there any special 'credit' that they need to give?

Thanks,
Frank Levine
