Good Morning FIRST LEGO League! 

We have 2 upcoming events and deadlines fast approaching.  

Global Innovation Awards: Submission Deadline: 2/1/17

Your team could have the chance to win up to $20,000 to prototype their innovative solution from the 2016 Animal Allies season. The Global Innovation Awards was designed to encourage and assist teams to further develop their innovative solutions to real-world problems.  If your team is interested in participating in this competition please follow the instructions HERE and submit a video by February 1st, 2017.  The semi finalists will compete in June, 2017.

We look forward to seeing the awesome solutions the teams have discovered! 


Build & Create Day: Registration Deadline: 2/20/17

This event will have a one of a kind FIRST LEGO League Scrimmage (the Scrimmage will consist of the Robot Game and Project Judging).  Due to space limitations, there may or may NOT be practice tables available.  The Create & Build Event is a pre-game event to a Washington Wizards NBA game!  Teams will have the opportunity to participate in a VA/DC FIRST LEGO League scrimmage and gain access to all of the other kids day activities.  Kids day activities include: Balloon Making, Face Painting, Collecti-Con, Create-a-Comic and much more!  In addition to the Scrimmage and kids day activities, each of you will receive a ticket to watch the Washington Wizards play against the Utah Jazz!  Each participant will receive a Wizards T-shirts, early admission to the game, and a chance to enter to win special prizes such as Wizard swag, access to on-court activities and more!

 

The event is scheduled for February 26th 10:00am-2:00pm and Washington Wizards game against the Utah Jazz will start at 5:00pm.  The fee for this scrimmage and Create & Build day is $23 per person.  Slots are limited (the $23 is per person and includes coaches, parents, siblings, etc. that will be attending).  It will be a fun filled event and we cannot wait to see you and your team!  Lets show these folks what FIRST LEGO League is all about!
