I have three books, which I think are all a must have, if you are a team
serious about mastering the building of Lego Robot and Programming an EV3,
especially so, if you are a new team.

The Art of Lego Mindstorms EV3 Programming by Terry Griffin
The Lego Mindstorms EV3 Idea Book by Yoshihito Isogawa and
The Unofficial Lego Technic Builder's Guide by Pawet Sariel Kmiet

In my own experience coaching teams, I found that these books elevated the
team in their skills on how to build a robot for a challenge and how to
program it to do the missions on the table. So, I strongly recommend for
anyone, who is serious about learning and winning.

All three books, I have are like new and are up for sale. I live in
Herndon, VA and if you live close by and interested in buying them for a
discounted price, please reach me directly.

Best,
--Sitaram

Teams that buy just a standard EV3 Kit and go to competition, do not
realize that it is just a simple kit and that the team need more motors and
sensors to make competitive robots and also be fault tolerant. I have seen
teams that scramble for parts in the last minute for some reason or the
other.

The first time, our team competed, the team was young and one of the guys
carrying the robot dropped it and needless to explain the rest...We
realized the hard way, that we needed to build more robust robots and have
spares for motors and sensors. So we bought additional motors and sensors.
All new and some of them have not been opened from the plastic pouch.

If you order from Lego directly, sometimes, the website says that the parts
are not available and you have to pay shipping charges as well.

I have the following motors and sensors for sale. If you live close to
Herndon, VA and would like to get any of the motors or sensors, reach out
to me directly.

One Large Motor
One Small Motor
One Ultra Sonic Sensor
One EV3 Light Sensor
One NXT Light Sensor
One Infra Red Sensor
One bunch of Cables
A set of gears and casings.

If you are interested in buying all of them, it is ideal. If you are
interested in one or more of them, let me know. Based on the responses, I
will decide.

Thanks,
--Sitaram

Hi Everyone,

We are members of FLL Team Not the Droids You are Looking For and Founders of EV3Lessons.com. We are in town this weekend to collaborate with iBot Brainiacs on an FLL Share and Learn Workshop on Saturday in Reston, VA. That workshop is full.

However, we were planning to bring many non-competition robots with us: a dot-matrix printer (Pix3l Plott3r), a LEGO 3D printer (EV3 i3 MK2), some games and even a large Wall-E all made with EV3s. These robots have been featured at Innovation Faire at FIRST World Festival, World Maker Faire, and also World Robot Olympiad in the Expert Zone.

If there is interest in seeing them in action and someone can help us find a last-minute location near Reston, VA, we would be willing to demo them. They are all made using skills we learned through 6 years in FLL and we hope to inspire more FLL kids to build/make using the skills they learn in the program.

If you are interested, please email us at [log in to unmask] We could demo them on Sunday or Monday next week (July 30 or 31).

Thanks,
Arvind and Sanjay

*Don't miss the opportunity to learn EV3 Robot Design and Programming and
prepare for the 2017-2018 FLL season. *

These will be the only lessons we give out on EV3 design and programming.

We shall still provide one on one or group sessions to coaches and parents
to let them know what FLL is and what to expect.

Hello all,

Looking for some advice:

How much would one sell last year's mat and legos for? I see some asking
on this email group....just wondering what the normal cost usually is. We
need to fundraise for some additional sensors for our robot this year.....

Unless you're retiring from FLL, I would recommend hanging on to old field
kits for parts and practice.

That said, old field kits usually go for $40ish on this list.
