What’s new for HYDRO DYNAMICS?

• The Project Rubric was updated. Rubrics outline the criteria used for judging teams in Core Values, Project and Robot Design. Download the rubrics at https://www.firstinspires.org/resource-library/fll/judging-rubrics.

• The Robot Performance Hurdle for Advancement is now 75% for all qualifiers. All advancing teams are selected using the Champion’s Award criteria; the highest achieving teams who meet the 75% minimum Robot Performance Hurdle are eligible for advancement. When selecting teams for advancement, Champion’s Award-winning teams are always chosen first. If a tournament can advance additional teams beyond those selected for Champion’s Awards, that is when the 75% hurdle comes into play.

The Robot Performance Hurdle for advancement does not impact the hurdle for Champion’s Awards. Teams at all tournaments must be ranked in the top 40% of Robot Game scores to be considered for Champion’s Awards. 

Champion Award Criteria (has not changed):

• Teams that rise to the top across all three judging areas
• Evaluate any core values concerns
• The Robot Performance Hurdle for Champions Award is 40%
