Another question for set-up:

M17- Are the Dirty Water and Rain pieces loaded into the Slingshot by hand in-base? Or is that the robot's job? And, for the bonus, one photo shows both Waters inside and the other shows them ejected and in target. Why would anyone risk ejecting them if bonus points are given while inside the Slingshot?

Thank you for any clarification,

Part 2:

In the Mission Models (Advanced Setups) section, it gives the instructions for attaching the Pump System. The figure for Step 1 shows where to put dual lock on the Pump System. Since the picture is low-resolution, here's what to do: use 6 pairs of dual lock. I've included a picture showing where they go on one side.

One at the top of the long gray piece on the centerline of the round part.
One at the bottom of the round part, also on the long gray piece.
One diagonally at the bottom of the long gray piece above the round part.

Once you have the 6 pairs of dual lock attached to the model (you'll have sticky sides out on the outside of the pairs), line the model up between its marks and push north to attach to the North wall. The Pump System will still be sitting on the Mat.

Hello everyone,

The Pump model does need to be attached to the North wall.

As stated in the Field Setup document, "The Mat is smaller than the playing surface by design." Step 3 of the Field Mat Placement section, says to align the mat so there is no gap at the South wall, and equal gaps at the East and West walls. So there is going to be a gap at the North wall. Teams--remember that the North wall gap may vary a little between your practice table and a tournament table.

Thank you VA/DC FLL for organizing the very informative worshop in Reston, VA on Friday.
I had brought up this question there as the worshop table Pump system model (similar to my team) had not stuck the model to the north border wall.

In order to stick the model to the wall, it needs to be slightly outside the mat. There is a small gap between the mat and the north wall and the mat itself has a black border. In order to keep the model on the mat we would need to add additional Lego pieces or something to fill the gap and have the model make contact with the wall.

The field set up guide does not offer information regarding this. However on page 13 it apppears as though the model is slightly outside the mat.

Referees, coaches please repond.

Subject: [VADCFLL-L] FLL hydro dynamics field setup question

We are trying to figure out how the pump target system is attached to the north wall of the table using dual locks as mentioned in field setup guide. Any suggestion?

Thanks!
