2020 EV3 Hackathon
The 2020 Robotics for Youth EV3 Hackathon is a newly designed EV3 competition in which the challenge is not released to teams until the day of the competition. Teams are allowed to bring pre-built robots and programs to the competition,and will have time to build and program for the challenge.
Competition Rules
Team Member Count
A team may have a minimum of one team member and a maximum of four team members.A team may choose to have up to one coach older than all team members.
Part
Restrictions
All pieces motors,and sensors for the robot must be LEGO elements.The use of third party attachments on the robot is prohibited.
Attachment Restriction
It is not permitted to use screws, glue or tape to connect any of the parts of the robot.
Beforehand Programs
A program before the Hackathon day may be constructed.This includes MyBlocks and any other starting programs
Equipment
Exceptions
Allowed materials include the EV3 robot, LEGO elements,a device on which to program their EV3 robot,and spare parts. Teamsare expected to bring their own equipment on the competition day.
Sharing
Policy
Teams are not allowed to share a laptop and/or their program for a robot for the duration of the competition.
