Hi Everyone
It’s been mentioned already on this thread how uncertain things are at this point. We are operating with the same information as everyone, unsure of when or how schools will reopen. We are planning optimistically knowing that as we receive
more directions and guidance from local and state officials, things may change.
Regardless, we will be delivering the RePlay and Playmakers programs in the 2020-21 season. As Denyse mentioned, what that looks like is still to be determined. We are asking hard questions and looking for innovative solutions along with
FIRST. We want to meet teams where they are and in whatever situation they might be in, which will look differently in different places.
If I have learned anything in this position over the past year it’s that Virginia + DC has an amazing community of hardworking, innovative, problem-solving, empathetic volunteers, coaches, mentors, and mostly importantly YOUNG SCHOLARS!
Our kids deserve and need opportunities like this, especially in these times. We will keep working to deliver a safe and quality season to our region and will update you as soon as we have more the logistical details.
Despite the uncertainty, here are a few suggestions of what can be done now…
Best regards,
Kaitlin Ilnitzki

Lots of ways for the teams to still have a season are being discussed by FIRST. Will it look the same? Who knows? Will it be smaller? Will there be spectators? Will judging be virtual? Who knows. One shoe may not fit each team or state
either.
We know that we are mixing forward to hope that have some normal in whatever this new normal really is. We need it as much as our kids do.

Yeah, I am in the same boat, I also have two school teams. There are so many "ifs" this year. Right now I just want to get my paperwork done and get a whole lot of teaching materials out of my
classroom to keep at home.

I have two school based teams and we are on hold until the school system decides what we are doing in the fall. One of the 5 options on the table is to not go back ….

I am registering and waiting to see. We can't start until the school year does, anyway. Kids get so much from this, even if they don't go to a face to face tournament, it will be worth it.

Subject: [VADCFLL-L] Suggestions/Plans for the coming FLL season
Hi Everyone
I want to know what is everyone planning for this coming season. With COVID-19 and social distancing, is it still possible to do the FLL with group of kids?
Looking forward for valuable suggestions on what everyone is up to.
Thanks!!
