Raining Robots have a question about the basketball mission.

No, there's no leniency for dealing with tall mission models.  You can be sure that something tall like the basketball hoop is there to be an engineering challenge.

If the attachment is 12 inches tall, there's no problem while the robot is running or getting ready to launch.  The Launch Area does not have a height limit (R13). So Raining Robots must be concerned about earning the M00 Equipment Inspection Bonus.

The ceiling for both inspection areas is 12 inches high.  Your teams have a lot of flexibility in how they want to put their equipment into the inspection area--attachments can be taken off the robot or broken down into smaller chunks, put things on a diagonal, etc.  And the team is allowed to use their hands to hold equipment inside the inspection area.  Whatever works for them.

Most of us have probably had experience moving a long object down a hallway and around a corner.  Your team members might enjoy using the Pythagorean theorem to estimate how much space/length they have available to fit things into, and then see what happens when they try to use objects with real dimensions.
