Welcome Chris to the wonderful world of FLL!
First up make sure that you are signed up for the coaches chat, where you can ask questions and get great information.
There are meeting guides and the coaches manual that will help you determine what meetings that you need to hold and a sample schedule.
If you're stuck on robot, there is a guided mission for EV3 and Spike prime. It shows you how to solve one mission, that's a good place to start.
I guess one piece of advice I would always pass along to a new coach would be, your team is never going to be "ready." Go to competition anyway, the kids will have a fantastic time.
In your first season less is more, keep it simple, and ask for help.
VA-DC FLL Referee Advisor
Hello Team Coaches and Mentors,
Team 47355 is excited to be holding their first meeting next Tuesday! As a first-time coach, I'm hoping to get as much good advice as possible before setting off on this robotics adventure. What do you wish you knew before you started your team? Any and all advice is appreciated!
Also, a special shout out to Rangam and the once-mighty Thunder Robots for their amazing generosity not only with equipment but a whole lot of FLL wisdom too.
