Hello,
We are getting our team ready for the 2022-23 season and are concerned about the ages of some of the potential members of our team. We are seeing conflicting information. Question: Is the Division 1 based on ages or grades of the students? For example, we have a student who is currently 10 years old in grade 4. He will turn 11 in January 2023 during our season3. Will he still be able to compete in Division 1?

This is a great time to start thinking about next season. VA-DC FIRST LEGO League Challenge qualifying tournaments will remain at $150 per team.
Attached is a sample budget that can be used to calculate the cost per student. VA-DC FLL does not provide a cost per participant, because that will vary for every individual team. The cost can change depending on how many participants join the team (between 2-10), what materials the team already has access to or can be donated, what materials can be shared (two teams can share a challenge set), etc.

We are trying to revive our pre-Covid robotics program at our school, and we need to determine about how much it will cost per student to participate. Of course I found the cost of registration and the cost of the Challenge Set, but I want to be up front with the parents about the anticipated cost of participating in a competition. Can anyone tell me about how much we could expect to pay to compete in a Richmond-area competition next fall? Thanks in advance!
