The judges are trained to give a couple of extra seconds, especially if it sounds like the team is winding down. If it's 30 seconds or so over and no sign of the presentation ending, then the judges will politely interrupt the team and begin the Q&A. 

It is recommended to rehearse the presentation and make sure it is less than five minutes.

It's been some time since I was a Mindstorms coach but back then this was a
very strict time limit.  If you go over you risk being cut off.  They have
to stick to the time limits to stay on schedule. Your team should be able to
hit the key highlights of their design within the allotted time. it's good
practice for the real world!
