Hello teams,
A reminder that Blue Cheese Robotics is hosting an FLL Kickoff with Meet an
Expert this Tuesday at 6:30pm at Tuckahoe Library, 1901 Starling Dr,
Henrico, VA 23229.
Dr. Bernard Means, the director of the VCU Curation Laboratory, will be
sharing what he and his team does, from excavations and scanning of local
historic sites to recreating bones of mastodons and dinosaurs. After his
presentation, teams will be able to ask questions
We will also have this year's robot challenge table set up and Mike Brown,
the VA/DC FLL head referee will be there to discuss missions and answer
questions.
The VCU Curation Lab is a "center for experiential learning that digitally
preserves cultural heritage by 3D scanning, printing, and sharing
prehistoric and historic artifacts for research, education, and public
interaction. Led by Project Director Bernard K. Means, the lab uses these
digital techniques to document archaeological remains, fossils, and
historically significant items..."
Teams, coaches, parents are all welcome, even individual members if your
whole team is unable to attend.
We’d love for you to join us! Veteran FLL coaches with many years of
experience will be present as well to answer questions.
