To those who plan to attend the FEAST conference in September: this is a reminder that the hotel is reserving rooms for us at a reduced rate ONLY UNTIL AUGUST 25th. If you have not made reservations yet, please do so! Also, those who have not yet sent in their conference registrations, please do so as soon as possible -- it helps us plan better to know how many are coming. Everyone who is on the program is required to register for the conference.

FEMINIST ETHICS AND SOCIAL THEORY CONFERENCE
The Sheraton Sand Key Resort, Clearwater Beach, Florida
Thursday, September 24-Sunday, September 27, 2009

The early registration fee to attend the conference is $75 members and $90 nonmembers if postmarked on or before August 5, and $100 members and $120 nonmembers for on-site registration or if postmarked after August 5.  All student registration (members and nonmembers) is $15 if postmarked on or before August 5 and $25 on-site or if postmarked after August 5.  Qualifying graduate students (and those who are unemployed/underemployed) who will be presenting at the conference may apply for partial scholarships to help defray costs; scholarship information was included in acceptance letters. All others are encouraged to contribute to a scholarship fund. We also encourage those who can to contribute to a fund to help support Philosophy in an Inclusive Key Summer Institute (see description below). All contributions to FEAST are tax deductible. Registration includes conference participation and refreshments at breaks and receptions (but does not include cash bar at evening receptions)!

To register, complete the registration form and send it along with a check or money order made out to FEAST, to: FEAST Registration, Philosophy Department, Binghamton University, Binghamton, NY 13902-6000. We can only accept payment by check or money order in U.S. dollars. Confirmation of registration will be emailed to early registrants.  Registrations without payment will not be processed. AIR TRAVEL AND HOTEL INFORMATION

Those who are travelling by air should fly to the Tampa airport. Cabs from the airport to the hotel cost approximately $55, or there is a “super shuttle” that costs $25 each way. Reservations can be made at www.supershuttle.com or by calling 800-746-2258. Those needing a wheelchair accessible shuttle must make reservations at least 24 hours in advance. The trip takes about one hour and the van may make stops along the way. The concierge at the hotel can also arrange a private Lincoln town car for pick-up at the airport for $60.

The conference will be hosted at the Sheraton Sand Key Resort. For more information, see the hotel website: http://www.sheratonsandkey.com/.  Rooms are being held until August 25th at the conference rate of $157 plus tax per night (for the best available room at time of check-in, with two queen beds or one king size bed). Rooms that are accessible for the disabled are available; please specify what you need when you register. Cribs and refrigerator units are available for $5 per night. Roll-away cots are available for $10. Babysitting services can be arranged by the concierge. The conference rate is good for up to three nights prior to and/or following the conference dates, depending on availability. Hotel reservations can be made on the hotel website, or by calling 727-595-1611; identify yourself as with the "Association for Feminist Ethics and Social Theory" in order to get the conference rate.
