One of the essays in her early collection, Working it Out_ saved my life when I was struggling with my dissertation. I've since recommended it to many others.

I think I met Sally on only a few occasions. Yet, she exuded such warmth that she made me feel like an old friend. Her groundbreaking work captured that spirit.

This is overwhelmingly sad news. She had such clear insight, and was a wonderful friend. I saw her in the rehab facility and am stunned by this great loss to us all.

I am truly saddened and will miss her. Sally was such a basically good person. I continue to draw on her work.

At least I am glad we have Joan and Nancy's film of her. We could show clips at any memorial.

	Good wishes to all,
	Alison
