1 - Are you going to be at the Richtech breakfast on April 8th? They are talking about FLL, just curious if we could meet there.
2 - Have you heard of the Tufts University LEGO Engineering Symposium? It seems interesting to me. I would like to get more involved in mentoring, and teaching and the development labs seem to provide these resources. Any feedback is appreciated. It may be over my head since I'm only an after school mentor, not a full time educator.
3 - do you have any more info on April 9th? I don't think our Jr. FLL team will be ready, but I'd like to send out something to the parents if this is open to the public?
I want to let you know about an upcoming Jr.FLL Expo in Richmond and hope that many of you are able to attend.
Saturday, April 30th 10:00 am - 1:00 pm Science Museum of Virginia, Richmond $25.00 to register Registration will open on March 15th on the vadcfll.org website We will also have FLL, FTC and FRC teams there so you'll be able to learn about all the FIRST programs.
I am helping to coordinate a program showcase for the FIRST Robotics Competition (the High School big bots) to be held at the Siegel Center in Richmond on April 8th and 9th. There will be over 60 High School teams competing as well as a Technology Row area and an area showcasing the other FIRST programs. I am looking for Jr.FLL teams to come and talk about Jr.FLL. We would like teams to bring their model and Show-Me Poster and be available to talk with the public about Jr.FLL. I am looking for the following:
1. Morning shift - Saturday April 9th 2. Afternoon shift - Saturday April 9th
Let me know if you have any questions on the upcoming Expo or if your team (or even part of your team) would be interested in helping out at the FRC Competition on April 9th.
Many thanks,
Sally Sylvester Senior Mentor Virginia Coordinator Science Museum Jr.FLL Expo
