Elaborated by the members of the International Network of Women Philosophers sponsored by UNESCO, the Journal is the result of a close collaboration between women philosophers from diverse cultural backgrounds.
For the
International Network of Women Philosophers lays on the presumption that the universal needs to be complicated, questioned and worked upon, its Journal should be able to offer truly inclusive platform to all women philosophers in the world as well as to all intellectual and philosophical traditions.
For its first issue, the Journal is taking the bull by the horns: it questions its very conditions of possibility. What happens – philosophically and
politically speaking – when one attempts to craft a Women Philosophers’ Journal? Apparently nothing that challenging: the subject matter is philosophy and the authors are women from all over the world.
It is very simple indeed, and yet so complex.
The official launching of the Journal will take place on 17 November at the Third Assembly of Women Philosophers organized within the framework of the World Philosophy Day at UNESCO, Paris.

Elaborée par les membres du Réseau international des femmes philosophes parrainé par l’UNESCO, la Revue est le résultat d’une étroite collaboration entre les femmes philosophes de divers
horizons culturels.
Le Réseau international des femmes philosophes reposant sur l’idée que l’universel doit être compliqué, questionné et travaillé, sa revue doit être en mesure de proposer une plateforme réellement ouverte à toutes les femmes philosophes dans le monde ainsi qu’à toutes les traditions intellectuelles et philosophiques.
Pour son premier numéro, la revue se propose de prendre le taureau par les cornes: elle interroge ses propres conditions de possibilité. Que se passe t-il sur le plan philosophique et politique lorsqu’on lance une Revue des femmes philosophes ? Il pourrait sembler que son intitulé suffise à la définir : son objet est la philosophie ; ses auteurs sont des femmes du monde entier. C’est très simple, très vrai, et pourtant si compliqué à tenir.
Le lancement officiel de la Revue aura lieu le 17 Novembre 2011 lors des Troisièmes Assises du Réseau international des femmes
philosophes organisées dans le cadre de la Journée mondiale de la philosophie à l’UNESCO, Paris.
