Folks: This Friday at the Central APA around lunchtime, the CPIP (Committee on Pre- College Philosophy) is sponsoring a special session (IV-K; 12:45-2:45) demonstrating philosophy with children. This falls right after the special session on Sara Ruddick in which many of us may have a shared interest. Local students in elementary, middle, and high school will be showing how philosophy can be done. Yes, that's right kids who love philosophy are coming to the APA! What's more, some of the students come from Bart Schultz's Civic Knowledge Project program, so there is a definite social justice twist, here. This is very exciting, and an unusual opportunity for you and your colleagues to see "philosophy with kids"/pre-college philosophy in action across a variety of age groups. Normally this experience would require going into multiple schools over the course of days. If you are going to Central APA, please consider attending, yourselves, and let your colleagues attending Central APA know as well. Let's get these young folks an audience!
