The Department of Philosophy and Religion in the College of Arts and Sciences at American University invites applications for a full-time, one-year teaching position in Philosophy beginning August 2012.

 

Area of specialization: open. Areas of competence: The department particularly welcomes candidates with a pluralistic training in philosophy and a broad interest in the history of philosophy. We have particular needs in the General Education Program, along with courses to be determined by the candidate’s expertise and departmental needs. The appointee will teach philosophy courses in ethics, aesthetics, social and political philosophy, and/or logic. The successful candidate will also advise MA capstone papers. The appointment will be made at the Professorial Lecturer level, which requires the Ph.D. in hand. The teaching load is 3/3.
