It is not uncommon.  My experience has been that when the battery starts to die, it's time to replace it.  FWIW, our annual FLL budget now includes the funds to buy a new battery each year.

Dear all,
Our team is having issues with the rechargeable battery pack. This is the second season with the same set and they are noticing that it is losing battery too quickly and within minutes of practice it drops by 0.5 almost and they are requesting that we buy a new pack and replace it. Ofcourse this will need rebuilding the entire robot and we are 5 days from the tournament. We are going to order one soon.
Has any of you experienced this? Is this normal after two years of use?
Need advice.
Thanks
Savita
