Lecturer in Philosophy/ Fixed term. The Department of Philosophy and Religion at

Appalachian State University invites applications for a one-year, full-time

faculty position at the rank of Lecturer beginning July 1, 2014. AOS is open, but candidate is required to have demonstrated competence to teach Environmental Ethics, Medical Ethics, and an introductory ethics course titled “Philosophy, Society and Ethics”.

Ph.D. in Philosophy preferred, but candidates who are ABD in Philosophy will be

considered. M.A. in Philosophy is required. Teaching load is 4 4, and the

position comes with full benefits as allowed by the State of North Carolina.

 

The Department of Philosophy and Religion at Appalachian State University offers

separate B.A. degrees in Philosophy and Religious Studies. Appalachian State University is a member institution of the sixteen-campus University of North Carolina. Located in Boone, North Carolina, the university has approximately 17,000 students, primarily bachelors and masters programs in both liberal arts and applied fields. Appalachian has both a traditional residential campus and a variety of distance education programs.
