What will you do this summer?

It’s mid-winter, freezing cold, and time to make summer plans!  Many opportunities to apply for special summer opportunities will soon close.  Here are some examples of opportunities of possible interest to CHBS students:

Spain during May.  Consider a Short-Term Study Abroad course to Spain! There are still a few open spots in the “Health Care in Spain: A Cross-cultural Exploration of Illness and Wellness” course to Tarragona, Spain.  Dates are 5/18 – 6/11.  This is a 4 credit course that includes a 2-week clinical internship with Spanish healthcare professionals.  This course will benefit you as a future healthcare professional through learning basic clinical skills and strengthening your Spanish language ability. This experience is open to ALL majors.  The clinical/practical component of this class can count as the practical component of the Medical Spanish minor.  For more information, please email Erika Metzler Sawin ([log in to unmask]) and visit the trip website.  Basic proficiency in Spanish is required, but contact Dr. Sawin if you have questions about this.  Applications are being accepted on a rolling basis, so apply now!!
