I'd like to take the liberty of calling the attention of FEAST-list members to my recently published book Interactive Democracy: The Social Roots of Global Justice (Cambridge University Press). The book includes discussions of the role of solidarity, care, and empathy in fulfilling global justice (and deepening democracy), and takes up some hard questions concerning gender equality in cross-cultural contexts. Here's a link to the publisher's description of the book (with the TOC and Introduction):

I'd also like to proudly announce that the next issue of the Journal of Social Philosophy will be a special issue on "Miscarriage, Reproductive Loss, and Fetal Death," guest edited by Ann J. Cahill, Kathryn J. Norlock, and Byron Stoyles. The list of contributors includes Ann J. Cahill, Rebecca Kukla & Sarah Hardy, Hilde Lindemann, Sarah Clark Miller, Amy Mullin, Lindsey Porter, Christine Overall, Alison Reiheld, and Byron Stoyles, with an introduction by the editors. This exciting issue should be out in early March!

With best wishes for a very happy and healthy New Year,
Carol
