In terms of registration, the big change is that teams can keep their team number from last year. So existing teams can just log into their TIMS accounts, accept the terms and conditions and C&R, verify their information, then pay their registration fee and they’re done. So far we’ve heard pretty positive feedback about how simple the process is for existing teams. If they don’t want to keep their team number they will need to re-register.
In terms of YPP – anybody who was screened last year will not need to go through screening for another 2 years. Screening for new coaches and volunteers remains the same otherwise.
For more specific information about what teams will see when they login to TIMS:
Any paid team (not temporary teams such as 201412345) will be rolled into the next year with all of their team data intact inclusive of:
· Team number
· All of the EXACT team summary information will roll into the next season
o Team information – Team name, location, Rookie season, Primary region** (see below)
o Organizational data – School, sponsors
o Team contacts -Main Coach, alternative coach, and purchaser if applicable. Mentor roles auto-rolling is still TBD.
** The 2ndary region is being eliminated. The (primary) region may or may not be the same as last year. This is due to the fact that in 2015 the system will assign the region and we will utilize that routine during the season roll. This region can be overridden by teams but with a warning message.
Regarding what the teams will experience when first logging in for 2015 Trash Trek:
· They will log in at the same links as always, they will see their dashboard screen upon login. https://my.usfirst.org/fll/tims/site.lasso?fuseaction=home.welcome
· On the dashboard they will:
o See a listing of any teams that they have and will be able to drill into the team summary of each team just as today.
o They will need to accept C&R, T&C,
o They will need to validate YPP policy by checking a box, if for some reason they have a screening issue, they will be prompted to take care of that.
o They should (but won’t be required) to review and change as need all info mentioned above.
o At that point they can register and pay for their team(s).
o If they are getting a grant there will be a notification in the payment section that their team registration was paid for\pending payment with a grant and\or an applicable grant code for product (codes exist only for product now).
