Foer’s first two books, *Everything is Illuminated* and *Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close*, have both been made into major motion pictures and, while highly regarded for their literary merit, are also popular with the college demographic. *Kirkus Reviews* called *Eating Animals* “wholly compelling” and the *LA Times* argues that it offers a wisdom “that, in all its humanity and clarity, deserves a place at the table with our greatest philosophers.” In recent years both Duke University and University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill made it required reading for their incoming freshman class. The most frequent comment we hear from educators who use *Eating Animals* is “I’ve never had such great classroom discussion!” *On October 27, 2015, Jonathan Safran Foer will make a number of virtual classroom visits to discuss Eating Animals, using professional webinar technology.* See further details below.
