I learned so much from Claudia Care--both er person and her work.  I can't believe she is no longer among us.  I will miss her intellectual energy, generous spirit, wit, and compassion.  She was one of my philosophical guiding lights.

Best,

Rosie

I am so glad that so many celebrations are being held in her honor.

Best,

Rosie Tong

So sad.  Claudia was such a generous person and fine philosopher.  Her death diminishes the world.

This is indeed sad.  Claudia is one of my philosophical heroines.  Her work and her perseverance as a feminist in the profession have both had a profound influence on me.

I'm saddened to hear of Claudia's passing.  She was an exceptional philosopher, a generous mentor to many, and a wonderful person.  She will be missed.

I plan to dedicate an upcoming issue of the Journal of Social Philosophy to her memory (as a modest, though inadequate, gesture to her accomplishments and influence).  If there is a symposium on her work, I would be glad to see the papers published in the journal as well.

All best,

Carol

Excellent suggestion, Lisa.  Another possibility would be to meet over coffee before the morning sessions start on Thursday or Friday.

I hope that we can dedicate some time at the upcoming FEAST conference to remember Claudia -- perhaps an open mike at one of the receptions. So many of us are terribly sad.

As many of you now know, Claudia Card died last night at about 8 pm, surrounded by loving family members.

I know of at least two APA sessions (Eastern and Central) that had already been planned to honor Claudia and her work.

I hope folks will use the FEAST and SWIP lists to let us know of other such events that might be planned.
