*CSU-Fresno assistant professor position in philosophy*



Asst. Prof., tenure-track, beginning Fall semester, 2016. Eight courses per
year (4 per semester; typically 2-3 preps per semester), undergraduate
level. Course load reduced to six for the first two years. Usual
nonteaching duties. AOS: Law and Philosophy; AOC: Open; the department has
teaching needs in critical thinking, peace and conflict studies, social and
political philosophy, and professional ethics. The successful candidate
will teach and mentor students in our pre-law option, whose upper division
courses currently include: Philosophy of Law, Fieldwork in Philosophy and
Law, and Ethics of Criminal Justice.



An earned doctorate (Ph.D.) in Philosophy is required by the time of
appointment. Candidates are expected to demonstrate excellence in teaching
and a commitment to scholarly activity. The successful candidate must have
the ability to work effectively with faculty, staff and students from
diverse ethnic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds. California State
