Thank you. I'm familiar with many of those, though I will have to check out the Valentine. I was thinking particularly of work dealing with ontologies of sexual difference (from a more Continental perspective) and metaphysics of gender (from a more analytic perspective) that address "what" these categories are. Much of the work on sexual difference coming out of French feminism, for example, seems to prioritize cisgender embodiment-- and I am not well-versed in more "analytic" feminist metaphysics that takes up this question from a trans-specific angle.
Thanks again,
Oli

Any particular aspects you are interested in? There are always the classics (Sandy Stone, Susan Stryker), & Joanne Meyerowitz volume "how sex changed" covers the history of trans narrative as does Jay Prosser ' s "second skins" & David Valentine wrote "Imagining Transgender: an ethnography of a category" & there is dean spade ' s critical piece "mutilating gender" which is available online

Recent issues of Hypatia have some good essays.
And google Talia Bettcher, Esa Diaz-Leon, Katharine Jenkins (not meaning to leave others out--these are just the first 3 off the top of my head)
and happy to know Stephanie's diss is online and free!

Hi everyone,
I am doing some research on sexual difference and the metaphysics of gender, and trying to find more sources that focus on trans and/or gender-non-conforming positions in their analysis. If you have recommendations, please be in touch!
Thank you,
Oli
