The Department of Philosophy at Hobart and
William Smith Colleges invites applications for a tenure track position
to begin July 1, 2018. Areas of Specialization: open. Area of
Competence: teaching upper-level Ancient Philosophy, with research
potential in this area.
In addition, preference will be given
to candidates able to teach environmental ethics; we are also
particularly interested in candidates able to teach philosophy of race
or philosophy of mind. Evidence of dynamic teaching, especially at the
introductory level, and potential for excellent scholarship are
required. Preference will be given to candidates whose Ph.D.’s are
complete. 3/2 teaching load. Salary and benefits are competitive.
