Hi TOK List,
Attached is an article I authored on depression that appeared in the most recent issue of Psychology Today. I was invited to do it as a function of my blog series on depression (which is
here).
I will share that my youngest daughter (Lanie 15) read it and it lead to a productive exchange. Although she is not depressed, several friends she knows struggle with it. For us, the article served as a healthy point of conversation,
and we ended up chatting about it and related things like sadness and self-criticism and anxiety and what is normal and when does it tip over to become a problem and how to discuss. It lasted over an hour. I share because it suggested to me that the article
was at a level that is relatively easy to digest and can serve to open up discussion in a number of related domains.
Best,
Gregg
