The WGSS program at GWU is the first graduate program in Women’s Studies in the United States. Today, it is a thriving program that offers a BA, a BA/MA, two graduate degrees, two minors, one certificate, and a joint JD/MA. The Director of the program will provide scholarly leadership, oversee administration, budgeting, as well as student recruitment for the program. The successful candidate will be jointly appointed and tenured in the appropriate department at The George Washington University as a Full or Associate Professor. The appointment is expected to begin as early as Fall 2020. Minimum Qualifications PhD in Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies or in any Humanities or Social Sciences field or a terminal MFA degree; a record of scholarly publications such as books or journal articles; administrative and leadership experience; demonstrated commitment to global and intersectional approaches to the study of gender and sexuality; experience working with a diverse range of faculty, staff, and students; experience with program building, teaching, and/or advising at undergraduate and graduate levels.
