Check out that article I just sent to the list as it carries the basic point that the third person scientific view is a view of behavior. The scientists is an observer. A measurement of some change entity occurs that is framed as an observation that is then interpreted by a logical/theoretical structure. Blinking is a particular kind of activity. I am going to be mulling this over all day. What else would give rise to a fun Saturday afternoon 😊. Notice how it is basically offering the same frame that I emphasize, which is that there is a fundamental epistemological difference between first and third person. The third person view then frames change in terms of “behavior”, across the scientific disciplines: https://www.realclearscience.com/articles/2019/11/02/science_as_we_know_it_cant_explain_consciousness_heres_what_could_111159.html Best, Gregg ___________________________________________ Gregg Henriques, Ph.D. Professor Department of Graduate Psychology 216 Johnston Hall MSC 7401 James Madison University Harrisonburg, VA 22807 (540) 568-7857 (phone) (540) 568-4747 (fax) Be that which enhances dignity and well-being with integrity.
