Check out that article I just sent to the list as it carries the basic point that the third person scientific view is a view of behavior. The scientists is an observer. A measurement of some change entity occurs that is framed as an observation that is then interpreted by a logical/theoretical structure.

 

Blinking is a particular kind of activity.

  Here is an article on consciousness. Notice how it is basically offering the same frame that I emphasize, which is that there is a fundamental epistemological difference between first and third person. The third person view then frames change in terms of “behavior”, across the scientific disciplines:
