Exciting to see an update from you, Zak.

Peterson appeared fated to disintegrate from the beginning.  I feel for him and his family while at the same time I hope he revises his message to young people and learns that productivity and masochism are not the keys to a life worth living

Interesting take on this, Zak. Thanks for sharing. Your piece about your wife was deeply moving, and I’m sorry to hear that that’s happened - I can’t imagine. I’ll have to listen to the YouTube video on the way home from the gym today. Personally, I have not been on top of this issue other than having a general awareness that Peterson was suffering from withdrawal symptoms from taking his prescribed dosage. Clearly, as a society, we need to take much caution in prescribing medication. The study that I work on full-time uses Adderall XR in half of parents, which has raised lots of concern amongst our participatory stakeholder group, as well as within our affiliated community clinics.

I appreciate this insight, and hope to learn more about these topics.

Best,

Cole

The plot thickens here (I was in touch with David Fuller, as he put this together):

This is an issue that is right up close and personal for me (as some of you know):

Couple more considerations:

Iatrogenics is bigger than psych meds: see Ivan Illach, et al ... it is a HUGE issue throughout most fields of medicine. It is the crux of the vaccine debates, and plays a major role in COVID deaths (specifically, if you are put on a ventilator you are pumped full of benzos, and opiates, at the same time [which is what kills])

Peterson and his daughter appear to be caught in some lies with this, having previously claimed to not be on any medication (meat diet cure). Peterson was *deeply* compromised during the height of his influence, and lied/misled people about it. Moreover, in this new video his approach is to continue to endorse psychiatric drugs in general, and he makes no broader references to any of the systemic factors that produce risks across the board. Indeed, it appears his daughter is seeking to opportunistically promote a "cure"--which is simply another medication (and if it is an anticonvulsant then it is a medication that is actually *very* similar to a benzo, i.e., have they looked at all potential iatrogenic effects from this "cure"?). Many people may be harmed by their touting such "cure" -- this is grossly irresponsible and dangerous.

Take care everyone.

Hi all,

I wanted to share with you all this podcast from Jordan Peterson's daughter, Mikhaila. For those of you interested in his personal life, this story is about how he formed a physical dependence to benzodiazepines by taking his prescribed dosage. His story highlights the extreme danger of forming a physical dependency to a commonly prescribed medication, and walks through his battles on death's door. It is a powerful and moving piece that really made me consider more deeply how we think about and use medication, as well as the suffering that people will put up with to be there for their family. It also addresses his wife's battles with cancer and his daughter's autoimmune issues.

Thanks,
