Dear TOK Community,

I want to welcome one of our newest members, Michael Fenchel, and also put out a plug for an upcoming free, 60-minute workshop he is offering tomorrow (Wed) from 5-6pm EST: "Liberal and Conservative: From Polarization to Harmony” (You can register here. )

*****
About the workshop, Michael writes:

"We'll have folks who hold both liberal and conservative viewpoints in attendance, and it will be an opportunity to share and grow your own perspectives and show up with curiosity (and dare-I-say compassion!) to others. What an idea!! :) register here.

As many of you know I'm obsessed with the idea of paradox - the notion that (seeming) opposites must both be embraced in order for us as individuals and as a larger community to thrive. From inhale AND exhale (our breath) to logic AND intuition (decision-making) to masculine AND feminine (formation of life); seeming opposites pervade our personal and professional lives. The same is true with liberal AND conservative; both perspectives and viewpoints hold merit - and when we're unable to see that, we each move further into polarization and othering. No one EVER changed their belief structures b/c of judgment or shame. Our world needs a heck of a lot more mutual understanding and compassion right now - and I believe it's the only way forward.

Anyway, if this feels like something you might be interested in, I'd love to see you there. Feel free to invite others! Shoot me back a note with any questions / thoughts.

Cheers,
Michael
