I wonder if it is time to have a conversation about making this award and its language more inclusive - including nonbinary philosophers and specifying explicitly that the award is trans inclusive? (I recognize that the wording is not trans exclusive now, but given the recent assaults on trans rights and dignity, including particularly in the profession, it seems like it would be nice to flag explicitly that this is an inclusive award.)

           The Eastern Society for Women in Philosophy (E-SWIP) is now accepting nominations for the 2021 Distinguished WomanPhilosopher Award.  The Award has historically recognized outstanding accomplishment by women philosophers in a wide range of philosophical subfields, including metaphysics, epistemology, ethics, philosophy of mind, philosophy of language, social and political philosophy, and philosophy of science.  We have also recognized the efforts of women philosophers to support other women in the field, through teaching, mentoring, or other means.
            Nominations should include at least two letters of recommendation describing (a) the candidate’s contributions to the field of philosophy and (b) the candidate’s work supporting women in philosophy.  Please send all nomination materials to [log in to unmask] .  Nominations are due by August 1, 2021 and the winner will be announced in October 2021.  (A list of past winners is available on our website: https://www.eswip.org/ )
