Let’s add something: perhaps one attricute of a normal (functioning) brain is that it creates mental maps that accurately correspond to reality and brings about adaptive behaviors.

I recommend the book A Thousand Brains: A New Theory of Intelligence.
(IMHO Part 1 is better that parts 2 and 3.)

Also, I enjoyed listening to Waldemar TOKing with Gregg.
In the conversation Waldemar lamented the lack of a “normal brain” to use as a reference standard.

Perhaps one attribute of a normal brain is that it creates mental maps that accurately correspond to reality.
