Does anyone know about any neuroscience of projection?

It seems to me a much more difficult problem than expected.

While alone, I think it’s probably the same thing as projection, in
principle, or (meta)-physically, to merely think about or imagine other
selves or people…. as opposed to meditation or being present with one’s
actions.

…because us people of science should understand that people are
indeterminate, and in a superposition of possible states, if not pure
awareness, when not (*and* when) immediately present.

Even regarding the evolution of culture and technology, it seems that
identity trends are becoming a more diffuse thing.

Also, projection seems to involve much deeper, physical processes than what
I expected from identification as merely my body.
