Hi Folks, I am writing with two links. First, here is a link to the Stoa Session I did with John V and Zak S. on our Metapsychology of Transformation Series: https://youtu.be/CCU0UJ_2G6E<https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__youtu.be_CCU0UJ-5F2G6E&d=DwMFaQ&c=eLbWYnpnzycBCgmb7vCI4uqNEB9RSjOdn_5nBEmmeq0&r=wjF8cZoiFchamTuxBdDEmw&m=bybsoiQvAnSuAAeC8pHMM5b3yQ_YuOJbiO2jf4G3cso&s=QYXtWmtT4D-kWrDRuhzGxmtWBC1I-Lo4MMCfBA_5HME&e=> In that session, Evan McMullen asked question that differentiated psychology from cognitive science and then went on to ask about other domains. I asked him for clarity, and he replied that for him, "psychology" should be framed by the lexical root, psyche and ology, which is basically words about the inner psyche. That question focused me a division that I had been playing around with and so today I took a slightly different angle on it and offered a blog on "two psychologies" one that is "objective science" and the second that is "subjective folk". https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/theory-knowledge/202110/two-psychologies-objective-science-and-subjective-folk As I make clear in the blog, these are not the only way to frame the meanings of the term. But it is an important distinction to be cognizant of.
