I love that more and more of these types of articles comparing and
discussing the links between Eastern Wisdom and theories of psychology,
they tend to overlap very nicely in general and some are nearly
interchangeable in terms of intervention. Although it still amazes me the
lack of understanding some of these papers have for Eastern Wisdom. More
straightforward emic comparisons are necessary, most notably in that many
of the more esoteric and phenomenological aspects of Eastern and in
particular nondual theologies (e.g., Zen, Advaita Vedanta) are very
difficult to translate through language and particularly through a
naturalistic epistemology which is more than predominant in Western science
as an institution.

Thanks for sharing, this is the sort of philosophical underlabouring that
is required for a truly integrated field.

Regards,

Nicholas G. Lattanzio, Psy.D.
